The Summer Phlox, Canna Lily, and Mexican Petunia are easy plants to pass along to friends and relatives. All I do is dig them up and put them in place and almost 100 percent of the time they start growing . And since they are perennials, they spread, multiply and come back the next year. In the case of the Mexican Petunia, it is considered invasive, so I have to thin it out often. It can be very hard to dig out all of the roots so I have to stay on top of this plant. Bee Balm is very easy to start. I just pull up one and stick in the ground and it starts growing. The fragrance is very nice. Bee Balm is considered a herb. All of the plants mentioned here were given to me by family members and friends. Lilies are another great plant for passing along since they need to be divided every few years. I always wanted some of the heirloom iris. Well, I was lucky enough to have mentioned this to a friend and he came over with two bags that he was discarding.
